Marketing Presentation From June 30 Meeting

We will be applying all of these things as a group, but each of us should consider applying them in our personal marketing plans as well.  Much more was discussed with regard to these slides, and I'll try to get some of that on this post within a few weeks.

September 2021 Meeting

September 14, 2021 Ray, Homer and Marla enjoy a pleasant evening during our September meetup.   •The meeting was held on James’ birthday in his adorable backyard and it was a lovely night. Great food, great ambiance, great people.  I’ll post pics at the end of the email ;) •James gave us a rundown of the online stuff. We have about 60 Word Addicts members total and 120 email subscribers.  We have 2,000 Twitter followers, 80 Instagram Followers (better than 10 I guess haha!), and 600+ Facebook followers/friends.  •A huge benefit for members is the online presence and promotion that we offer as a group. The requirements to receive these benefits are as follows: -Be local member  -Write for the blog once a year  -Contribute in some way to the yearly anthology  •To get a book promoted (3 social media posts and an email), authors have to write a short article on a very narrow topic. We’ve thrown around the idea of doing a series of social media posts featuring short stories or the beginning

Here is a timeline of events if you would like to be part of the Christmas Book for 2022: •January we will be asking for submission commitments • February - you better get writing! • March - you have to be done with your story. • End of March to mid April - all stories read with good feedback. • Mid/End of April - everyone should have have feedback and redraft has to be done by May 1st. • May and June - all copy edits done. • The last week of June and first week in July to respond to copy edits. • All of July - formatting and the cover

Meeting To Discuss Expansion To Non-local Members

We held a special meeting tonight due to the fact that several non-local writers have expressed interest in joining Word Addicts.  Word Addicts was formed in 2015 when Allison Brown asked a few friends to get together and talk about writing.  Two years later we released our first anthology, and we continued to meet monthly. We released a second anthology in 2018.  In late 2019 and early 2020 we reorganized, took on the name Word Addicts, created a website and blog, began a social media campaign. Until now we've been a local group living within a few miles of each other.  Tonight we held a meeting to address how we might expand as a group. We are excited to expand this way. We want to partner with writers everywhere and learn from them, benefit from their knowledge and talents, and enjoy our mutual support.   What do we currently offer members: Opportunities to give and receive feedback on writing. Once-monthly video conferences to discuss writing, receive training, etc... Opportu
